ERIC (Education and Resources for Improving Childhood Continence) worked
with the Health Education Trust (HET) to write and produce this free
downloadable guidance for schools on the use of water coolers to help
ensure that the highest standards possible prevail in the selection,
provision, installation and maintenance of water coolers in schools. It
also contains guidance on personal water bottles.

Water bottle
A tough, re-usable, 500ml, see-through, plastic sport's bottle with a non-spill sport's cap with side panels for marking individual names.

Public health experts advise that water bottles are cleaned daily in hot soapy water, rinsed well and allowed to drip dry. ERIC's campaign bottles can be cleaned in a dishwasher. For optimal hygiene, soak bottles regularly in a sterilising solution.
